I’m a music school dropout who wandered into tech. As a technical writer on the Information Experience team at Google Cloud, I write for Anthos and previously wrote for GKE and open source Kubernetes where I served as a contributor, maintainer, and release shadow in SIG Docs.
I’m no fountain of knowledge like Sarah Maddox, Tom Johnson, or Jennifer Rondeau. That’s it.[1] You’ll learn a lot more from them.
But if you’re so inclined, feel free to read my posts, too. This blog will mostly serve as a dumping ground for schoolwork, but it’ll also chronicle any redesign choices and feature updates for upcoming iterations of my capstone portfolio. I may also post about the intersection of my scholarly pursuits and practical experience in technical communication like:
- technical writing
- design thinking
- audience analysis
- usability testing
- site analytics
But my interests are as varied as the field of tech com (drop the second m…it’s cleaner[2]), so I may also post about woodwind doubling in musical theatre, jazz pedagogy as social justice, or conversations with recruiters trying to entice me to apply for fixed-term contract roles where I currently work. Luckily, that’s still ✌on brand✌ since it’s all, technically, writing.
